Falkland Palace

This tour offers so much in terms ranging from scenic views, quaint seaside villages, impressive palaces, golf courses, universities and the Forth Bridges. Departing Edinburgh we stop to marvel at the Forth Rail Bridge, built in 1882 this is now a UNESCO world heritage site. The other bridges that span the Queensferry area are equally impressive as well, including the new Queensferry Crossing. We then head north into the Kingdom of Fife passing through seaside villages of Aberdour and Kinghorn, where we stop to admire the views of the Firth of Forth and Edinburgh before heading to Falkland Palace. Falkland is a conservation village and a pleasant time can be had meandering around the quaint town or visit the Palace which was home and to the Stuart monarchs for 200 years.

St Andrews Castle

After time spent visiting Falkland Palace it is time to visit the "home" of golf, St. Andrews. Plenty of time will be spent browsing the shops, wandering around the town, university, and castle before marvelling at the famous Old Course and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club. St Andrews university is the oldest university in Scotland and the third oldest in the English speaking world. The cathedral, the largest in Scotland, still shows part of its former glory but however now lies in ruin. Why not follow in the footsteps of where Prince William, (now the Duke of Cambridge) met Catherine Middleton (now Duchess of Cambridge) by visiting the town.

Leaving St. Andrews we head along the Fife coastal road, visiting picturesque fishing villages of Anstruther, Pittenween, and Elie. These charming and quaint villages offer a glimpse into the previous lives where fishing was a sizeable part of the community. Our final stop is at North Queensferry where we can get an alternative view of the Forth Crossings.
