Our journey to Gullane and Muirfield area takes us along the picturesque coastal roads of East Lothian where we pass views of the Firth of Forth and nature reserves. Muirfield hosts The Open Championship on a rotational basis, depending on the day you want to take this tour, we may be able visit the clubhouse. Visitors are allowed into Muirfield on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We continue eastwards through the village of Dirleton where the medieval fortress Dirleton Castle is positioned. North Berwick is a very short drive away, the Scottish Seabird Centre is located here along with views of the Bass Rock. We have the option of climbing up Berwick Law to obtain fantastic views of North Berwick and the Firth of Forth.

Eyemouth lies just to the north of Berwick-upon-Tweed, it was once a promising fishing village, we can stop here and see if the seals are in the harbour. From here it is a short drive to Berwick-upon-Tweed, the town has an interesting past, constantly changing between Scottish and English control. We will see the town's walls and harbour area, bridges, time will be made available to browse the town shops or just take in the history, before heading further south to visit the stunning stately home of Alnwick Castle and gardens. The castle features in the filming of Downton Abbey and Harry Potter movies. Depending on the length of time you wish to stay at Alnwick, there is the option and if the tide permits we can visit Holy Island, home to Lindisfarm Priory and Castle. On our return to Edinburgh, we can also incorporate a visit to the National Museum of Flight, where you can go on Concorde.
